StreetTruckarama News Column

This event will be here before you know it! The headliner of course will be the $10,000 Street Truck Dirt Drag Challenge. Also included will be a Burnout Contest, a Truck Tug-O-War, a Chassis Dyno, Stone Boat Drags, a Rock Crawler Exhibition, and we may be able to sneak in a Mud Pit! We'll know soon and pass that info on to you soon.

The big part of the show of course is the $10,000 Dirt Drag event. The money catches everybody's attention, but how we run it gives EVERYBODY a chance to win. Here's how we'll do it...

Test & Tune
will be held all day on Saturday. All times will be saved on the computer for our timing system. The fastest 128 trucks will be eligible to race for the $10,000 purse on Sunday.

Eliminations: We will break down these trucks into 8 classes of 16 trucks. The fastest 16 will be in "Class A", the next 16 fastest will be in "Class B", then "Class C", down to "Class H".
The prize money breakdown for winner and runner-up is as follows:
A - $1500, $750
B - $1200, $600
C - $1000, $500
D - $800, $400
E - $600, $300
F - $500, $250
G - $400, $200
H - $300, $150

All racing in this event will be done Heads-up, with no dial-in.

Didn't Qualify? No problem! You still get a chance to run for money. All trucks that didn't qualify for the above classes still get to race. Winner gets $250 to win. This race will be dial-in Bracket Racing.

Stone Boat Drags

This is a timed event. The idea is to see how fast a truck can pull a lightly weighted Stone Boat, rather than to see how much weight can be pulled. We think it can be very entertaining, and there seems to be alot of interest.

We will be building a concrete pad for the Burnout Contest as well as the Tug-O-War.

EVENT RULES

A more thorough set of rules are forthcoming, but if you follow this guideline, you will be fine:

All trucks for the $10,000 Street Truck Dirt Drag Challenge MUST BE A STREET LEGAL TRUCK! NO TRAILER QUEENS! Trucks must be driven on the street to the Fairgrounds. Must be able to be driven on the street legally! Trucks for this class may NOT be trailered onto the property. There will be a place to park trailers 5 miles away and parked there for the weekend for a nominal fee ($5 or $10). If you can't make a 5 mile trip on the street, you can't race it.

More details for the drags coming later.

Tug_O-War rules: Coming soon. We have a set of rules from another venue. We are looking to adapt them, but making sure we have a safe event.

Other rules coming as well!
